About
University of Mary Washington’s College of Education has received a State grant
to support special education teachers in Region 3 who are working
under provisional or conditional licenses in the 2010-11 school
year. The teachers MUST be admitted to the CGPS masters or licensure
program to be eligible. There are four parts to this grant:
1.
Tuition support
-
Reimbursement of ½ of your tuition per course
needed for license in fall 2010 semester.

Reimbursement will be paid to you.
-
If you drop, withdraw, or fail the course you
will return the funds you received to the grant.

If you receive this reimbursement, you cannot
apply for reimbursement under the Virginia Tuition Assistance
Program.

2.
Mentor
-
You will be required to identify a mentor in your
school who is an experienced special education teacher.

Your mentor will receive training and a stipend
from the grant
-
You and your mentor will complete specific
activities each semester
-
You will document your interactions with your
mentor and submit them at the end of each semester
3.
Optional Attendance at Virginia CEC
Conference in Virginia Beach on November 6, 2010

Registration and travel support will be provided if you desire

you check the box on the application you will be automatically
registered for the conference – you do not need to do it
yourself. You may submit mileage, lodging and meals expenses for
reimbursement.
